Leigh Greenfelder currently serves as the assistant vice president for Advancement Communications at Kent State University. In this role, Leigh leads an integrated team that merges advancement, alumni and annual giving communications. She also launched and oversees the Leadership Annual Giving program. Leigh spearheads efforts to build a donor-centric, omni-channel approach that will support and engage Kent State’s key constituencies during the comprehensive campaign and beyond.
Leigh has focused her team’s efforts on organizing all alumni and donor outreach from the university’s colleges and divisions, with a focus on driving university brand and priorities. By helping develop a constituent engagement score, her team has been able to create targeted outreach and fundraising campaigns, such as a record-setting $1 million Giving Tuesday program. Leigh serves on the division’s senior staff and is a member of the May 4 50th commemoration communications committee.
Prior to joining Kent State in January 2017, Leigh held roles with WhiteSpace Creative, including Vice President and Vice President for Public Relations. In these roles, Leigh led a team of professionals committed to creating and implementing a wide variety of integrated programs, from strategic planning and public relations to advertising, social media and branding. Her expertise as a senior counselor and advisor to corporate, nonprofit, political and municipal clients was essential to the integration of strategic services that ensured client success, and also garnered a variety of ADDY, MarComm and Hermes Creative Awards.
Leigh holds a Bachelor of Arts, Public Communications, Psychology from Ashland University, where she played intercollegiate volleyball and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
In addition to her role with Kent State, Leigh serves as a board member for the Akron Zoo.
