Department of Africana Studies Presents

Pan African Festival ‘22

Remembering Dr. Edward W. Crosby

Legacies of #BlackExcellence

This year’s theme, Legacies of #BlackExcellence, seeks to honor the love and labor of the department's founding administrators, including Dr. Edward W. Crosby and his wife, Mrs. Shirley Crosby.  This year’s event will speak to the connective tissue needed for current students to understand and ultimately embody the legacy of our department's ancestors.  Throughout the week, we invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and those from the greater Kent community to remember the journey of DPAS to AFS and to recommit to fulfilling the legacy of #BlackExcellence, on campus and in the community.
