The Department of Pan-African Studies (DPAS) will hold their annual cookout and student reception Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at 5 PM until 8 PM, behind Ritchie Hall on the commons. As part of the University wide weekend of welcome, the Department of Pan-African Studies extends an invitation to students, faculty, staff and the greater KSU Community to attend our 41st Annual Cookout and Reception for the 2013-2014 school year. Since 1972 the department has held this cookout to encourage new students to actively engage in the activities that the department offers. This is a unique opportunity for new and current students, faculty, staff and the greater KSU community to network and have some fun prior to the start of a new semester.
The Cookout and Reception is designed with new students in mind, there will be vendors, informational tables to showcase student organizations as well as information on the department. This event is co-sponsored by Undergraduate Studies, College of Arts & Sciences, Division of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, and the office of Division of Human Resources.
