Doctoral students in the IAL translation Studies program hosted their first Graduate Student Conference in Translation on March 22-24. The conference, entirely organized by students, provided doctoral students from translation, ASL interpreting, and comparative literature programs with the opportunity to present their research to peers in the field. It was a great venue for future and novice researchers to practice their presentation skills in a friendly environment and get feedback from peers, as well as from established instructors and scholars who attended the conference. The event was attended by over 40 people, including students and presenters from Kent State, Binghamton University, and Gallaudet University. The conference provided simultaneous American Sign Language Interpreting throughout all the sessions.
