12:00pm to 1:00pm

Room 165, Center for the Visual Arts

Join us for an artist talk with Rachel Smith, visiting professor in Jewelry/Metals/Enameling, on Friday, May 5 at 12:00 p.m. Rachel recently went on a trip to Senegal with the Toolbox Initiative. During the lecture she will be talking about everything she learned during her time in Africa and the efforts of the non-profit organization to support jewelers around the world.

The Toolbox Initiative is a volunteer effort created by jewelers Matthieu Cheminée and Tim McCreight in 2014. The goal is to assist jewelers with limited resources through the collective strength of the metalworking community and to create new connections worldwide.

The lecture will take place in room 165 at the Center for the Visual Arts. All lectures are free and open to the public.
