The School of Art presents an artist talk with Renée Zettle-Sterling, visiting artist in Jewelry/Metals/Enameling, on Friday, February 7 from 12-1 p.m. Zettle-Sterling is an Associate Professor of Art and Design at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. The talk will take place in room 165 at the Center for the Visual Arts (325 Terrace Dr.) and is free and open to the public.

A contemporary metals exhibition inspired by tragedy, trauma and violence that celebrates the resiliency of a human spirit.  Curated in response to a Commemorative Medallion made by Philadelphia College of Art students (now University of the Arts)  in honor of the students who perished at Kent State University on May 4, 1970. Featuring: Boris Bally, Taehyun Bang, Marilyn DaSilva, Holland Houdek, Keith Lewis, Michael Nashef, Marissa Saneholtz, Stephen Saracino, Mel Someroski and Renée Zettle-Sterling. Foundations Show Fall 2019

The School of Art’s Foundations program invites you to the biannual Foundations Show on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5-7 p.m. Foundations students will be showing their best work from Drawing I, Drawing II, 2D composition, 3D composition, and Digital Media. Visitors will receive stickers to vote for their favorite artworks. Outstanding student achievement nominees will be announced in the atrium at 6:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served. Free and open to everyone.
