International students make up an important part of the art community at Kent State University. Approximately 2,500 international students from nearly 100 countries are currently enrolled at KSU. As you engage in our international student admissions process, you will see why so many students choose to come to our school. APPLICATION DEADLINES
FALL ADMISSION: TBA
The admission cycle for fall 2023 is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications. We invite you to consider applying to our program when the next application cycle opens in August of 2023 for Fall 2024 admission. Our application deadline for the School of Art is generally in early February, so please be sure to check our website next fall for exact deadlines and ensure that all application materials arrive by that date to qualify for admission consideration.
Late Application:
- International applications completed after the deadline will not be reviewed. Due to the time constraints of the immigration process, International applicants must meet application deadlines.
Conditional Admission Policy:
Does this program consider applicants for conditional admission when:
- Applicant lacks an IELTS/TOEFL score: NO
- Applicant has a lower IELTS/TOEFL score than the required minimum for admission: NO

English Language Proficiency Requirements for International Students:
All international students must provide proof of English language proficiency* (unless they meet specific exceptions) by earning a minimum 550 TOEFL score (79 on the Internet-based version), minimum 77 MELAB score, minimum 6.5 IELTS score or minimum 58 PTE Academic score. For more information on international admission, visit the Office of Global Education’s admission website. Effective spring 2018.
Note: GREs are not required by The School of Art.
*The TOEFL exam is preferred.
