Davin Ebanks Awarded Second Place at Ball State University Exhibit

Davin Ebanks, assistant professor and head of Glass at the School of Art, has been awarded second place in the juried exhibition GATHERING:  Contemporary Glass from the Heartland at Ball State University in Indianapolis, Indiana from Sept. 27 – Oct. 28, 2016. The exhibit showcased the best of emerging and established glass artists from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Wisconsin—the heartland of America. This year, 63 works of art by 31 artists were included. Various glass techniques are represented: cast, laminated, blown, etched, engraved, neon, mosaic, fused, kiln-formed, lampworked and glass in mixed media.

Ebanks won the award with his piece titled “Luminous Form: Pink Champagne & Lace,” a recent granularé blown-glass sculpture.  In addition to this achievement, he is also showing his work at SOFA Chicago with the Alida Anderson Art Project from Nov. 4-6, 2016.
