Kent State Faculty Featured in "Serial Intent" at Akron Art Museum

Three Kent State faculty members are being featured in the Akron Art Museum’s new exhibition, Serial Intent which features major serial works of art in large and impressive installations.  Current Interim Director and Print Media faculty, Michael Loderstedt, photography professor, Lori Kella as well as former faculty member, Craig Lucas have artwork featured in the exhibit.  Serial Intent is on view at the Akron Art Museum from June 3, 2017 - September 10, 2017 with a free public opening reception on Friday, June 2 from 7:30 - 9 p.m.

Serial Intent presents ten of Warhol’s Electric Chair prints as well as groupings from several print, drawing and photography series held in the Akron Art Museum collection. Artists include Robert Indiana, Jacob Lawrence, Sol LeWitt, and Karl Blossfeldt, among others. The exhibition offers opportunities to experience these multi-part artworks within the serial contexts intended by the artists who created them.
