Celebrating Dean Crawford-Spinelli's Retirement
A Message from Dean John Crawford-Spinelli, Ed.D.
The opportunity to serve as Dean of the College of the Arts at Kent State has been the highlight of my career.
It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside the talented and dedicated faculty, staff and students in our College and to see the programs in Art, Fashion, Music, Theatre, Dance and the University Museum skyrocket to national and international renown. Seeing the success of our students and keeping up with their life accomplishments are the greatest rewards one could receive.
It strikes me that I have spent over half of my life at Kent State, coming first as a faculty member and then serving 25 years as an administrator with 12 and ½ of those years as Dean. During the 33 years I have been at this wonderful institution, I have made many lasting friendships; laughed, cried and worked shoulder-to-shoulder with amazing colleagues. Kent State University has truly impacted my life and I will always cherish these memories and look forward to the new successes of the College under the leadership of the new Dean.
