Dean's Student Advisory Council
The purpose of the Dean's Student Advisory Council (DSAC) is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment for students to address concerns, promote discussion, and allow an opportunity to collaborate with other departments to help reinforce the importance of synergy.
DSAC is comprised of one undergraduate student representative for each school in the College of the Arts, including the School of Art, School of Music, School of Fashion Design and Merchandising, and the School of Theatre and Dance. DSAC also has one graduate student representative from each school, along with the Undergraduate Student Senate representative for the College of the Arts.
DSAC meets monthly with the Dean for the College of the Arts to cultivate a relationship between the Dean's office and students within the schools. Discussion items often focus on upcoming events within the College, including events like Fall Arts Festival, Spring for the Arts, Sundaes on Friday, and Stratosphere (our juried art competition) along with other issues or student concerns happening within the College of the Arts. DSAC members also assist with student programming as needed and generate ideas to fix student issues or address student concerns within the College. Members are selected by current DSAC representatives each spring for the following fall.
