Join us for the inaugural BFA Senior Thesis Exhibit Gala on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Eighteen senior BFA candidates will be displaying their artwork throughout the entire building at the Center for the Visual Arts. More info and maps TBA. The exhibit will be on view from April 21 – 28, 2017. Both the exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public.

The BFA Gala on April 21 will mark the first time in the School’s history that all the students graduating this spring with their B.F.A. degrees will have their thesis exhibits open simultaneously. Students majoring in a variety of areas of studio art will have their work on display during this exhibit, including drawing, painting, jewelry/metals/enameling, sculpture and expanded media, print media and photography, and ceramics. The 18 artists included are: Katie Burkett, Shelby Solomon, Ziru Chen, Matthew Hall, Joshua Bentley, David Braun, Megan Schimmoeller, Gabriel Poucher, Mycala Nichols, Avin HannahSmith, Jesse Nutter, Kayla Ewanko, Anna Serraglio, Nicole Thomas, Taylor Egan, Ashley K. Spangler, Andrea Lombardo and Ian Marshall.

This school year was the first that all School of Art programs, studios and classrooms were located under one roof at the newly constructed building. The Center for the Visual Arts building has given students and faculty new opportunities to work collaboratively as well as access to new facilities, studios and exhibition spaces.
