KENT, Ohio – The Fashion School at Kent State University will present the Fashion School’s Annual Fashion Show, “FS2: Visionnaire,” on Fri., April 24 and Sat., April 25. The show, which showcases the outstanding talents of the Fashion School’s design and merchandising students, will be held in Rockwell Hall, located at 515 Hilltop Drive in Kent, Ohio. Associate Presenting Partners Dillard’s and Macy’s will sponsor this year’s event.

Kent State University student Robin Bonatesta, a junior computer science and fashion merchandising major from Branchburg, N.J., has been named a University Innovation Fellow by the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter). The program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and directed by Stanford University and VentureWell (formerly NCIIA).

Kent, OH – School of Theatre and Dance alumnus Dylan Ratell made his Broadway debut June 1 in "Chicago" at New York's Ambassador Theatre. Ratell, a 2014 graduate of Kent State's musical theatre program, portrayed Mary Sunshine in the national tour of the production this spring. Following his Broadway debut, Ratell joined the production's international tour in Seoul, South Korea. A native of Bay City, Michigan, Ratell began his performance career at Kent State when he played Mary Sunshine in Porthouse Theatre's production of "Chicago" in 2011.

Students from the School of Theatre and Dance, the School of Fashion Design and Merchandising, School of Art and the College of Communication and Information studied abroad in London in March 2015. During the week-long trip, students learned about London's various arts and theatre offerings. They visited theatres, museums, galleries, and other important English landmarks and locations. Prior to the trip, students took a class in the School of Theatre and Dance on English history, literature, culture, politics, theatre, art and fashion.

Kent, OH – Six musical theatre students from Kent State's School of Theatre and Dance will perform on NBC's TODAY show with the university's a capella group the Kent Clarks on May 13. The performance will take place during the morning program's 8 a.m. hour. 

The Kent Clarks' members from the School of Theatre and Dance are Noah Casino (freshman), Matti Chrisman (freshman), Michael Crowley (senior), Meagan Eishen (senior), Rebecca Rand (freshman), and Eoin Rude (freshman). Membership in the a capella group is open to all majors at Kent State.

Associate professor of Dance Barbara Allegra Verlezza was an invited guest artist at Raritan Valley Community College's faculty dance concert this past March. Verlezza presented her original choreography entitled "Three Sister Sonata" which was performed by current Kent State dance students and Kent Dance Ensemble members Miranda Harig, Kelsey Jones, and Dana Wasielewski.  "Three Sister Sonata" originally premiered during the April 2014 Kent Dance Ensemble concert with Harig, Jones, and Wasielewski comprising the original cast of dancers.
