CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’VE BEEN ACCEPTED. NOW WHAT?

You probably have questions like:

Session Topics

  • Applying for Financial Aid
Starting the financial aid process can be intimidating! Our admissions office will introduce what the FAFSA is, what information will be entered in the FAFSA, how your financial aid award is calculated, and important financial aid deadlines.
  • My FAFSA is Done, Now What?
Now that you've completed your FAFSA, let's go over how to use your financial aid! In this session, our financial aid office will help you understand the types of financial aid you might have been awarded, how much aid the average student receives, and estimates on how much you may owe upon graduation.
  • Student  Success
Did you know that as a Kent State student, you have a wealth of services available to you for FREE? Our academic success and mental health departments will give an overview of peer coaching, supplemental instruction, our writing center, accessibility services, and mental health counseling.
  • Academic Advising
The most exciting part of starting college is getting your first schedule of classes. But how does it all work? Our academic advisors will discuss how advisors are assigned, how involved they are during your time at Kent State, what materials and supplies are needed for class, and what to do if you plan to work while taking classes.
  • Transfer Students
As a transfer student, you're comfortable with the basics of college, but starting somewhere new might leave you with some questions. Hear from admissions, academic advising, and financial aid to learn more about how to know which credits transferred in, making your transition seamless, and accepting your financial aid.
  • FlashLine & Blackboard
Your FlashLine student portal is your key to everything Kent State! In this session, our admissions office will show you how to access commonly used items such as your online class platform, your bill, your schedule, and more! You'll also learn the customizable features of FlashLine so you can make it uniquely your own.
  • Campus Tour
For new students, we know that confidence in navigating campus can decrease the nerves that may come with starting college. Join our admissions team on a walking tour of our beautiful campus. We will show the inside and outside of Main Hall,
