Biology Professor to Discuss Oxytocin, the “Love” Hormone
The College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State University will host its first of an ongoing series of talks on Wednesday, February 24 at 6 p.m. at the Secret Cellar in downtown Kent.
In her upcoming presentation, “Attraction: Is it just a Chemical Reaction?” Dr. Heather Caldwell will discuss the role of the brain, and chemicals (hormones and neurotransmitters) in the brain, play in attraction and love. She will focus on the role of oxytocin, which has sometimes been referred to as the “love” or “cuddle” hormone. Starting at 6:30 p.m., she plans to speak for 30 minutes followed by 15 minutes of questions and answers.
Caldwell is an associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State.
This event, free and open to the public, will be held at The Secret Cellar, located at 176 E. Main St. in downtown Kent. Tickets are not required.
