When is Kent State transitioning to PNC Bank?

Effective Sept. 1, 2015, all Kent State University campuses (with the exception of Ashtabula) will begin making deposits with PNC Bank. Each Kent Campus department can pick up their initial PNC deposit supplies (deposit bags, endorsement stamps and deposit tickets) at the Cashiers window in the  Schwartz Center.

For the Regional Campuses, PNC deposit supplies were sent to the business manager at each campus during the week of Aug. 24, 2015. Please return any non-PNC Bank deposit supplies via campus mail to Mark Vlacovsky, Treasury Services Manager, Schwartz Center, Kent Campus.

I work at the Kent Campus. What is the process for making a bank deposit?

The process for making deposits will change in two ways:

  • Instead of the “blue bag system” that has been used in the past, each department will be using disposable plastic bags to transport their deposit to the Bursar’s Office.
  • Endorsement stamps and tickets will now be department specific with an assigned department number and can no longer be shared outside of your department.
I work at a Regional Campus. What is the process for making a bank deposit?

Deposits should be prepared the same way you are currently doing them; however, you will take them to the nearest PNC Bank branch beginning Sept. 1.

Please note you may not need to make a daily deposit. According to university administrative policy 7-02.2, regarding protection of university funds, regional campus departments or organizations are not required to make a deposit for less than $250. If your deposit is less than that amount you must ensure the funds are kept in the approved safe on your campus.
