
Daniel McKelway
Daniel McKelway joined The Cleveland Orchestra as assistant principal and E-flat clarinet in 1995. As winner of the 1984 Young Concert Artists Auditions, Mr. McKelway made debuts at the Kennedy Center and the 92nd Street Y. He also received an Avery Fisher Career Grant, won the Affiliate Artists Auditions, and was awarded third prize at the Naumburg Competition. Mr. McKelway has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States and abroad. He has participated in festivals including Marlboro, Newport, Tanglewood, and Vancouver, and has toured and recorded with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Mr. McKelway studied with Robert Listokin and Harold Wright. Daniel McKelway and his wife, Cleveland Orchestra violist Lembi Veskimets, are the proud parents of a young son, Rein.
