A 2020 Season Update from Festival Director Ricardo Sepulveda

Ricardo Sepulveda

Dear Kent Blossom Music Festival Friends and Family,

First and foremost, I hope this message finds you well, healthy and safe.

So much has happened within the past week and we are doing our absolute best to remain current on the spread of COVID-19. There are a lot of question marks regarding the future of this pandemic. However, we remain optimistic and hope to celebrate our 52nd season with you. As of now, our Summer 2020 Festival and Concert Season is continuing as scheduled, running June 28 through August 2.

Currently, we are in the process of accepting our cohort of 43 exceptional Young Artists. Over the five weeks of the festival, they will study with our outstanding faculty and present free performances both on and off-campus during the 11-concert Young Artists Series. They will also perform at Blossom Music Center on Saturday, August 1 as the Kent Blossom Chamber Orchestra and then side-by-side with The Cleveland Orchestra. We are also thrilled that Kent Blossom Music Festival alumnus Philip Setzer, a founding member of the Emerson String Quartet, will be joining us in the first week of the festival to mentor and teach.

We are in the midst of planning our 2020 Faculty Concert Series, which will include performances by members of The Cleveland Orchestra and the Miami String Quartet along with Visiting Guest Artist violinist Paul Huang on July 22. Concerts in this series will take place every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. during the month of July in Ludwig Recital Hall. Subscriptions and single tickets are planned to go on sale Tuesday, May 26. Please visit our website and continue to check your email for more updates.

As we continue to plan for the upcoming season, we are keeping everyone in our hearts and thoughts. We couldn’t thank you enough for your continued support, encouragement and friendship.

I look forward to being in contact with you and providing updates during these upcoming months.

Until then, please stay healthy and safe.

All my best,
Ricardo Sepúlveda
Director, Kent Blossom Music Festival
