Monthly Payment Plan Options

Educational expenses can be easier to manage when spread over predictable monthly payments. Kent State University offers two types of payment plans to assist students and families. We offer a plan for registered students and a discretionary plan for non-registered students. Each plan has an enrollment fee of $55 per payment plan and includes:

  • Convenient monthly payments
  • 24-hour account access to your monthly payment plan information via FlashLine
  • The ability for students to setup multiple authorized users on their payment plan account
  • Flexible customer service options:
    • Toll-free customer service Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm ET at 800-339-8131

Registered Student Plan Options

The registered student payment plan offers 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 month plans for the fall and 2, 3, 4 or 5 month plans for the spring semester.  The length of the plan is determined by the enrollment date of the plan.  To qualify for the 6 month fall plan you would need to enroll before July 5 and for the 5 month spring plan you would need to enroll before December 5.  Payments are due the 5th of each month.

Non-Registered Student Plan Options

Non-registered students will be offered an 11 month payment plan.

Additional information regarding payment plan options can be found in the Payment Plan FAQ’s

What happens if my student account balance changes? Does my payment plan balance automatically change?

No, you or your authorized user will need to update your payment plan amount to reflect the change.

I am anticipating other financial assistance (e.g. financial aid, scholarships, grants, employer deferment, or a third-party contract payment.) that is not reflected on my student account. How much should I enroll in a plan for?

Simply deduct the amount of other financial assistance you are anticipating from your account balance and enroll in a payment plan for the difference. The payment plan amount can be adjusted at any time during the payment plan period. You can also use the calculator tool in Transact when enrolling in the plan for assistance.

I signed up for the payment plan, but have now received financial aid and/or other funds that will cover my balance in full. What should I do?

If you no longer need the payment plan, you can cancel it at any time by contacting Transact customer service Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM ET at 1-800-339-8131.
