Terms and Conditions for Nelnet Campus Commerce (NCC) Discretionary Payment Plan
The entire outstanding student account balance owed to Kent State University ("University") must be included in the 12-month Nelnet Campus Commerce payment plan. The entire balance must be paid within the 12-month period. The balance may be prepaid at any time in whole or in part without premium or penalty. If the entire student account balance is not paid off within the 12-month period, the remaining amount will be immediately due within 30 days. If not paid within 30 days, the account balance will be considered to be in default, and will be forwarded to the Office of the Ohio Attorney General for additional collection efforts.
Additionally, payment plans in delinquent status for 45 days will be canceled automatically on the 45th day. In addition, a payment plan will be canceled if two payments are returned. In both instances, the University will resume billing. If the student account remains unpaid, the account will be considered in default, and will be forwarded to the Office of the Ohio Attorney General for additional collection efforts.
Any participation in this program by the student and/or third party is voluntary and any participation by third parties (i.e. not the student) does not relieve the student of responsibility for the obligation to pay the outstanding debt. If the student is the payor under the plan, by enrolling in this program, the student specifically authorizes the University and its agents attempting to collect any debt the student owes to the University to utilize all contact information provided by the student, or may be provided in the future, to the University, including, but not limited to cell phone numbers and email addresses.
To be clear, as a condition of enrolling in this plan, the student authorizes and provides consent for the University or its agents to contact the student by voice or text on the student's cell phone (whether in person or through pre-recorded or automatic dialers) at any time to collect any debt the student may owe to the University.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the terms and conditions, as well as the services, debts, and collection efforts provided for herein on behalf of the University shall be governed by Ohio law, as applicable.
