Tuition Refund Appeal FAQ

We have made recent improvements to the Tuition Refund Appeal process.  To help you navigate through the new process we have provided a list of frequently asked questions along with their answers.  If you have additional questions not covered in the provided FAQ, please visit the Tuition Refund Appeal webpage for additional clarification.

How do I view the charges on my account?

Past statements are viewable via FlashLine.  Follow the steps below to access.
Step 1 Students should log into their FlashLine account through www.kent.edu
Step 2 Select Student then Finances
Step 3 Select “Print a Statement of Student Account” under “Tuition and Payments”

How can I view a list of my previous courses?

Step 1 Students should log into their FlashLine account through www.kent.edu 
Step 2 Select the Blackboard icon located on the top right of the screen.  
Step 3 Courses where you were a student are listed under "My Courses" located in the column on the right. 

Courses are listed as subject, course number, section number, semester, then title.  Instructor's names are listed underneath.

How do I contact my instructors?

You may want to take advantage of the phone directory listed at the top of the KSU website for contact information for your instructors. You may select here to access the online phone directory webpage directly.

I do not remember the name of my instructors. Where do I find them?

What do I do if the instructor has not responded to my request?

If you experience difficulty reaching your instructor, you may want to consider contacting the instructor’s department. They may be of some assistance in contacting the instructor for verification.  

What do I do if I cannot access my FlashLine account or Blackboard?

Contact the Technology HelpDesk at 330-672-HELP (4357) for assistance with your account. They will need your first and last name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. 

I cannot remember my Kent State ID number (Banner ID). What do I do?

Step 1 Students should log into their FlashLine account through www.kent.edu               
Step 2 Select Student then Dashboard               
Step 3 The ID number can be viewed underneath the student's name under "Profile"          

I have not logged into my KSU issued email account in more than two years. The account is now deactivated. How do I reactivate my KSU email account?

 Contact the Technology HelpDesk at 330-672-HELP (4357) for assistance with your account.  They will need your first and last name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. 

When is the Tuition Refund Appeal meeting?

The Tuition Refund Appeals Committee generally meets the 1st Wednesday of the month.  Tuition Refund Appeals must be submitted to the Bursar's Office on the Wednesday before the scheduled meeting to be considered for the upcoming meeting.  The Tuition Refund Appeals Committee meeting dates may be subject to change without notice. 

How will I be notified of the Committee's decision?

Students will be notified of the Tuition Refund Appeals Committee's decision via email within one week of the meeting date.
