Update Regarding Email About Registration Cancellations
Why did this happen?
Something triggered the class cancellation process to run August 11th instead of the scheduled date of August 18th.
How is this being resolved?
Employees from the Bursar’s, Student Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Offices will be working diligently to manually restore each affected student’s class registration. For now, the registration system remains shut down until all classes have been restored.
Can I re-register myself for classes?
No. The Bursar’s, Student Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Offices will be working to manually restore each affected student’s class registration. As such, the registration system must remain closed down while those records are being processed. The goal is to restore all affected class registrations by Tuesday, Aug. 16 at noon.
Is my payment due today if I don’t have a schedule?
No, the payment due date will be extended until August 21.
Will I have a late fee if I don’t pay until August 21?
No, there will not be any late fees charged on payments made through August 21.
How will I know when my schedule is restored?
We will notify you once we have restored your class schedule to where it was prior to the time it was cancelled on the evening of August 11.
Will my financial aid be affected?
No, since financial aid has not yet disbursed, there is no change to your aid at this time.
Will my housing or dining plans be affected?
This issue does not affect other university services such as residence hall fees or dining plans. Students do not need to contact their academic advisors.
Why can’t other students not affected register or make changes to their class registration?
In order to ensure that we are able to restore all the class schedules, we must close down the registration system. The goal is to restore all affected class registrations by Tuesday, Aug. 16 at noon.
I re-registered for classes after I received the cancellation email. Will my current schedule be replaced?
You will be added back into all the classes you had prior to the cancellation.
I re-registered for classes after I received the cancellation email but I was not able to get into some of the classes since they were full. Will the classes that were full be added to my schedule?
You will be added back into all the classes that you had prior to the cancellation, including classes that are full.
