Curriculum
The Master of Science in Accounting curriculum at Kent State University provides advanced accounting coursework with the opportunity to structure a concentration tailored to your needs.
If you have an undergraduate accounting major, you can complete the 30-credit hours of the MS in Accounting program in as little as two semesters full-time. If you do not have an undergraduate accounting degree, you can complete the MS in Accounting in 51 credit hours or less.
Undergraduate Accounting Core
You must complete the undergraduate accounting core, either in an undergraduate program or once you arrive at Kent State. You may take undergraduate accounting courses concurrently with graduate courses provided all pre-requisites are met. The core courses are required regardless of any work experience within the accounting profession.

MSA Program Graduate Course Requirements
The MSA program requires 30 hours of graduate coursework. The program requirements include 4 graduate accounting courses (12 hours), 3 or 4 graduate accounting electives (9 – 12 hours), and 2 or 3 graduate non-accounting business electives (6 – 9 hours). If you have already taken one or more of the required graduate accounting courses in your undergraduate accounting program, you will substitute a graduate accounting elective for each course.
