International Internships

 

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

Dates: Fall or Spring Semester Internships Only

One exceptional component of the Kent State Geneva Semester program is the Internship Program. The Internship Program is a challenging and rewarding experience, and academic credit is awarded upon successful completion of the internship placement and Internship Seminar course. Each applicant interested is reviewed and a tailored internship is sought for each eligible student regardless of their major. Interns work 20 hours per week if placed at an International Organization and 15 hours per week if placed at a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

Dates: Fall, Spring and Summer Internships Available

Considering an internship abroad? For some students, an internship is the ultimate way to explore a career. For others, an internship is a great way to gain relevant experience that will make them a stronger candidate for employment after graduation. All in all, it is a significant connection between academic studies and work experience, and will greatly booster your resume and future professional career. Students have the opportunity to complete an internship while taking traditional coursework in the Spring or Fall semester in Prague, or complete a stand-alone internship in the summer.

GAV SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Dates: May 27 – July 25, 2020

Located in the state of New South Wales, Sydney is the main business hub for Australia. The city is clean and easy to navigate. Population is approximate 5 million with a total area of 7,685 square miles. Sydney is the 8th most powerful financial centers with Fortune 1000 companies, as well as regional/local companies. Students can be placed in an internship for nearly all fields of study.

GAV HONG KONG

Hong Kong is one of the world's most densely populated cities with a population of 7.3 million in a total area of 426 square miles. It is also the world's second most competitive economy, third most powerful financial center, fifth in the World Bank's ranking of the easiest places to do business and has the sixth largest container port. Additionally, there are opportunities in all areas of business and hosts Asia headquarters for many of the Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000.

Dublin, Ireland has a population of 1.9 million and is the economic center of the country. Ireland is one of the most progressive countries and the home of many multinational companies' European Headquarters.

GAV AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND

Dates: May 27 – July 25, 2020

The Maori name for Auckland is 'Tamaki Makaurau' and for New Zealand is 'Aotearoa.'  Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand with a population of 1.495 million people. It is country's major economic center with a focus on Services and Commerce. In 2017, Auckland was ranked number 8 on CNN's list of the World's Most Livable Cities. Over 1/3 of New Zealand is made up of protected parkland and marine reserves.

Singapore has a population of 5.5 million with a total area of 278 square miles. It is highly ranked internationally for education, healthcare, and economic competitiveness. Additionally, it has the world's second largest container port, fourth largest financial center, and fifth busiest seaport. Its globalized and diversified economy depends heavily on trade.
