The recruiting process is highly competitive for all students, domestic and international. You will encounter some companies that do not hire international students as they have very strict policies related to hiring of candidates who require sponsorship. Ensure that you are exceptionally prepared by proactively taking advantage of the resources available to you through the Career Services Office.
It is imperative that international students quickly understand the US job search process, including networking and relationship-building (PDF). Spend time strengthening your command of the English language, as well as building relationships with Kent State University alumni through resources such as LinkedIn and the numerous career fairs held on campus throughout the year.
