GMC Advisory Board Member Appointed to Ohio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

PRLog - Apr. 8, 2014 - KENT, Ohio -- Jeffrey R. Dafler, advisory board member for the College of Business Administration’s Global Management Center, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

As the Director of International Government Affairs for The Timken Company, Dafler is responsible for building relationships with government officials globally. He works to engage officials to better understand how the various social, environmental and economic priorities intersect with The Timken Company’s capabilities and goals.

Prior to Timken, Dafler worked on international political and economic affairs as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, including assignments at diplomatic posts in Australia, Poland and Italy. After working with the U.S. Department of State, he joined the public relations team at NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, before joining Timken in 2005.

In addition to his job and his work with Kent State University’s Global Management Center, Dafler serves as vice president on the board of directors of The Wilderness Center, a non-profit nature center located in Wilmot, Ohio.

With his board appointment at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce he will help to promote the pro-business agenda of the Chamber and help other Ohio member businesses. The Ohio Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to championing free enterprise, economic competitiveness and growth for businesses to benefit all Ohioans.

Michael Mayo, Director of the Global Management Center at Kent State University, looks forward to Dafler’s insights to the College and Center on how the State of Ohio will work with the business community to promote economic growth and opportunities.

The purpose of the Global Management Center is to support international initiatives of the University and prepare students for success in global business. The center also provides students with the opportunity to learn from international speakers, study abroad, and supports faculty research internationally.
