Accounting Graduates Featured in Strategic Finance Journal
Accounting students Hallie D'Agostino and Evan Gallagher were featured in a recent issue of Strategic Finance, the flagship publication of Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
The article on D'Agostino, titled "When to Take the CMA Exam," discusses her experiences on how she prepared for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam. The article is in a Q&A format and provides insight to students who are inquiring about when to take the exam.
Hallie earned her Master of Science in Accounting from Kent State in May 2015. As a graduate student, she served as the president of both Beta Alpha Psi and the Accounting Association, vice president of the IMA student chapter and graduate assistant for the Introduction to Financial Accounting courses. She started her career with Grant Thornton LLP as an audit associate this fall.

Evan Gallagher was featured in the Strategic Finance article titled "IMA Life: Leading a Student Chapter." In the article Evan shared his experience founding an IMA student chapter with the guidance of his professor, Dr. Wendy Tietz. Gallagher was awarded a scholarship from IMA to take the CMA exam. He and several other IMA scholarship recipients recruited 12 new IMA student members. Students routinely attend Akron Chapter meetings and were able to send seven members to the IMA Student Leadership Conference last year.
