Jackson Hole Airport

"In August 2016, I was fortunate enough to be offered a six-month internship position working with the operations team at the Jackson Hole Airport in Wyoming. In the four months that I’ve been here, I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined. In addition to learning basic airport operations and management skills, I earned two accreditations with the American Association of Airport Executives. I obtained my Airport Certified Employee designation in Operations back in October, and just this past week (December 2016), I passed the rigorous 180 question Certified Member exam. I would not have been able to pass these exams without the continued support of the airport administration, which strives for all its employees to take advantage of these educational programs in hopes of improving the professional development of the staff. I am looking forward to continue working with the operations team these next two months as much of our day-to-day work will consist of snow removal operations and the issuance of NOTAMs as we tackle the heart of the chaotic winter season. I will forever be thankful for this opportunity to intern in beautiful Teton Valley and at the only airport in the country located within a National Park. I can’t thank the Kent State Aeronautics program enough for preparing me to handle the demands of the aviation industry and for helping to make this happen." -J.V., C.M., A.C.E.
