CAE Industry Week 2021
On March 29th, the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) launched the first-time virtual CAE Industry Week, kicking off a week-long showcase of career opportunities in the aeronautics and engineering industries. From March 29 - April 1, current students were provided the platform to engage in a career conversation with many CAE alumni and Industry Partners. This series highlighted possible career opportunities for students pursuing a bachelor of science in aeronautics, engineering, and/or engineering technology and allowed them to engage in a career conversation with industry professionals.
The CAE would like to thank Nationwide Aviation Business Center, Rockwell Automation, FedEx, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Walgreens, Southwest Airlines, Republic Airways, United Airlines, Goodyear, 3M, FlexJets, Parker Hannifin, New World Aviation, and Adaptive Corporation for their participation and providing an enriching experience for the CAE leaders of tomorrow.
"Our students are leaders and agents of change, and we cultivate that by not simply preparing them for a job after graduation - but by preparing them for a lifelong career," said Danielle Muckley Scerbovsky, director of external affairs, CAE. She continued, "professional development is imperative at all levels because it helps continue to not only be competent in your field - but remain relevant and propel your organization. We believe it is important to acclimate our students to the entrepreneurial mindset. CAE is inventing a culture of opportunity for our students; in return, we want them to invent a culture of opportunity for themselves."
Students were prepared with questions, including industry opinions about challenges moving forward, how to acclimate to company culture, and are there opportunities to blend interests such as becoming a pilot and also an Airframe and/or Powerplant Mechanic (A&P).
