CAE Welcomes public for Fed Ex Aeronautics Academic Center Grand Opening and A&E EXPO
The College of Aeronautics and Engineering(CAE) has two exciting, public events taking place Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7.
Friday at 5 p.m., the CAE welcomes the public to the FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center Grand Opening. The event will take place from 5-6 p.m. at the Kent State University Airport. Building tours, program information and plans for the facility will be discussed. Join us as we hear from FedEx representatives and Kent State leadership to discuss the new relationship and KSU’s flight technology program. Refreshments will be served.
What began as a vision to enhance the flight technology training experience and match aesthetics with the caliber of education, the FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center has become much more. After two decades of teaching in trailers at the KSU Airport, Kent State’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering’s FedEx Academic Center extends its College to a second building to better accommodate students and help meet the demand for pilots. This is the second new building for the College within a 5-year span.
On Saturday, September 7, from 8 a.m.-4p.m., at the Kent State Airport, the Aeronautics & Engineering EXPO (formerly known as the Aeronautics Fair), returns to Stow. Enjoy aircraft, robots, drones, the foundry and other technology used at the CAE. Airplane rides, flight simulator rides and tours of the FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center top the list of activities. Pick up a “passport” for your K-fourth grade student to fill out. Pick up a prize upon completion.
