Dean on the Beam

The Administrator of Holiday Magic has heard that our CAE family might be questioning the magic of the holiday season!

Our scout Dean has been assigned a name - Christina L. Bloebaum - and has already been receiving love from members of our CAE family - which means she has officially earned her magic.

Christina L. Bloebaum, The Dean on the Beam, has officially been adopted by our CAE family on December 1, 2020.

Our Dean on the Beam has asked me to share one rule: “Please do not touch me. My magic might go, and the Administrator of Holiday Magic won’t hear all I have seen or know.”

Dean on the Beam is adapted from “Elf on the Shelf” written by Carol Abersold and Chanda Bell (2005).

Follow the Dean on the Beam all December long!

Dean on the Beam day 3
It's a bird! It's a plane! WAIT! No! It is our Scout riding through the sky and following a UAS (drone)!

Did you know on November 18, Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) hosted a panel discussion on UAS (drone) use for COVID-19 contact tracing?

Keynote Speaker, Tim Ravich J.D., M.B.A., is an internationally recognized authority in aviation law and an expert in drone law specifically. Following the keynote, Darrell A. Clay moderated a panel discussion featuring Col. Joseph Zeis, Senior Adviser for Aerospace and Defense, Office of the Governor of Ohio, Bob Tanner, Executive Director, Ohio Federal Research Network, and Kent State University's very own Jason Lorenzon, J.D., ATP, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator, College of Aeronautics and Engineering.

Dean on the Beam day 2

Our Aeronautics and Engineering Building is missing our faculty, staff, and students.

Our Scout is doing her best to keep the building company, and trying her hardest to keep spreading the magic.

It appears she is reminiscing about the Paper Airplane Competition that was hosted earlier this semester.

If you are bored and need something fun to do, have a Paper Airplane Competition (safely) and send us you pictures, videos, and furthest distance (hint: do not forget to include the unit of measurement ).

Where do you think our Scout will be spreading holiday magic tomorrow?

Dean on the Beam

Here, Dean Bloebaum, has found herself on top of a FANUC Robot in our Industrial Robotics Lab in the Aeronautics and Engineering Building with a book.

I wonder what she is reading? Or is she taking notes to report back to the Administrator of Holiday Magic?

Follow along throughout the next 30 days to see what our Dean on the Beam finds. Can she help to save the magic of our holiday season? Can she help make us smile and lift our spirits?
