Johnsen Scholarship for Foundry Students

Johnsen Scholarship for Foundry Students
Head Shot of Martin O. Johnsen

The Martin O. Johnsen Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Johnsen, who founded the Metal Casting Lab in Van Deusen Hall in the late 1960s. In 1970, Johnsen’s Metal Casting Program at KSU was recognized by the Foundry Educational Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded to full-time Kent State students who are actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree and/or concentration in Foundry Technology. Priority for the scholarship will be given to students who are members of the American Foundry Society, and the recipient must be recommended by the current Foundry Educational Foundation Key Professor.
