WEWS Takes to the Sky to Learn About Kent State’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Minor

The sky is the limit when it comes to the uses for drones. From surveying natural disasters to inspecting rooftops, delivering packages, or simply flying for fun, the drone industry is growing at a rapid pace.

To prepare the next generation of professionals, the Kent State University College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology offers a minor in unmanned aircraft systems. The program focuses on safety, certification, applications, trends, regulations, communication and performance.

WEWS talked with students and instructor Jason Lorenzon about the program and how it is equipping students for endless career opportunities.
