Head Shot of Dr. Narendra Hyat

Dr. Nader Hedayat was a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He received his Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, and his master and bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran. His Ph. D. dissertation was on the “Fabrication of planar and tubular solid oxide fuel cells.”

Current Affiliation: Assistant Professor at Kent State University

Dr. Dhruba Panthi was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the group. He received his Ph. D. and M.S. degrees from The University of Tokyo (Japan) and B.S. degree from Tribhuvan University (Nepal), all in Mechanical Engineering. His broad research interests lie in clean energy technologies, applied electrochemistry, ceramic materials, and the general areas of mechanical, materials and process engineering. Dr. Panthi has 11 research papers to his credit published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at more than a dozen international scientific conferences.

Kai Zhao was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the group. He is working in Foshan University in Foshan city, China.

Current Affiliation: Post-Doctoral-Research-at-University-of-South-Carolina

Xin Yang was a visiting scholar and Ph. D. candidate in Science of Condensed Matter Physics of Jilin University, China. She previously worked for a national program named the study of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) fueled with commercial city gas. During her time at Kent State University, she is working on synthesis and characterization of double-perovskite anodes for SOFCs with coking resistance and sulfur tolerance using hydrocarbon fuels.

Current Affiliation: Instructor at Alfaisal University

Aliaa Maar was a graduate student in the group. She is a Mechanical Engineering instructor at Alfaisal University. She currently presented a seminar as IEEE-Sudan distinguished speakers series on Educational QA and the way to international accreditation. She established an Automation lab for the College of Engineering under Mechanical Engineering Department where she put the lessons she learned for the sustainability lab into practice.

Hemant Naik was a graduate student currently pursuing a Master in Technology degree. His thesis is on the subject of spiral fuel cells and the challenges faced in their fabrication using 3D printing and functionality. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he has previous work experience as a Design Engineer in the industry. He also worked on individual projects such as the Utility Vehicle for City and Suburbs for the Mahindra Design Competition, and participated in the Formula Supra SAE India Competition and International Bicycle Design Competition for disabled and financially unstable humans.

Current Affiliation: Engineer at Tesla

Magd Al Harbi is a recent KSU graduate with a B.S. in Applied Engineering and a concentration in Mechatronics. Magd interned at AlphaMicron Inc. from November 2015 to November 2016 where he handled numerous tasks that created a myriad of mutual opportunities for success and prosperity in his academic career and beyond. Magd was also involved in an Individual Investigation project that was centered around his passion in automation and control. He successfully planned, developed, and executed the project: a Remote Controlled Bluetooth Vehicle that can support integration of fuel cell technologies.

Chaitran Chakilam was a graduate student currently pursuing a Master in Engineering Technology Management degree. He has worked on three national level events organized by the Society of Automotive Engineering and other work such as the Low-Cost Electrical Wheelchair, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle project.

Sriram Matturi was a graduate student pursuing a Master in Digital Sciences degree with a specialty in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has worked on individual projects such as industrial transformer power protection, and improving active power filter performance for renewable energy power systems.
