CAE Engineering Students to Receive Scholarship Funds from Industrial Tech Alum
Engineering students at the College of Aeronautics and Engineering will benefit from the Brooks E. ‘84 and Mary M. Weingart Endowed Scholarship Fund. The fund was created in 2006 to provide financial support for outstanding Kent State engineering students. Brooks is a graduate of the School of Technology’s (Now the College of Aeronautics and Engineering) 2+2 program. After graduating from Kent State, Brooks began his design engineering career at Morgan Engineering and was then employed at SES. He went on to become the president of the AKROS Equipment Company as well as N.C. Consulting, Inc. which works on projects for the military, industry, nuclear power companies, and municipalities at home and abroad. Brooks has also engaged with the CAE to create CPI, a consulting firm that utilizes Brooks and his staff while leveraging the expertise of CAE’s faculty. The Brooks E. and Mary M. Weingart Endowed Scholarship Fund assists CAE students with at least sophomore standing and a GPA minimum of 3.25.
