Computer Requirements

This policy was established to aid in the planning of computer purchase(s) throughout the completion of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design programs.

The college requires that students entering the Architecture, Architectural Studies and Interior Design programs have a mid-range to a high-end consumer-grade laptop. The college recommends but does not require that students entering the Construction Management program have a mid-range to a high-end consumer-grade laptop as well. The college will update these specifications on an annual or bi-annual basis to match advances in software and hardware requirements.

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CAED UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Usually, these specs can be met by simply shopping for a "gaming computer" or a "gaming laptop". Students entering 4th-year Architecture will begin using very resource intensive applications. Students often opt to purchase a high-end desktop to complement their laptop.
