CAED Professor Pamela Evans earns Emeritus title for her dedicated service to CAED and Kent State University
On March 10, 2021 Dr. Pamela Evans was approved by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation of faculty to be given Emeritus status by Kent State University. Dr. Evans served the CAED for 29 years as Professor and Director of the Interior Design Program.
Dr. Evan’s is accomplished as a beloved professor who simultaneously maintained the highest standards and greatest empathy for her students. In addition, she served as Interior Design Program Director from 1990–2019. Dr. Evans led a program of distinction that consistently received high marks from the Council of Interior Design Association (CIDA) that periodically reviews programs for accreditation. The program has an extraordinarily strong graduate placement record and has produced many leaders in the profession. Beyond her teaching and service, Dr. Evans maintained a substantial research agenda which she continues today. Beyond Kent State, she served on the Board of CIDA for six years and was Chair for two. She was made a Fellow of the Interior Design Educators Council in 2009 and was named Educator of the Year by the International Interior Design Association in 2018.
