CAED Welcomes Cathy Marshall
Cathy Soergel Marshall
We are very excited to announce the hire of Cathy Soergel-Marshall, with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor, to coordinate the Master of Landscape Architecture Program. Professor Marshall joins us from Louisiana State University’s, Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture, the country’s top ranked undergraduate Landscape Architecture program, where she taught since 2003 at the rank of Associate Professor with tenure since 2009. Professor Marshall holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she began her teaching career, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural History from Ithaca College. As a Landscape Architect, she maintains her own practice, CSM Design, LA.
Professor Marshall joins us with great acclaim as a teacher, evidenced by an Outstanding Teaching Award from LSU’s College of Art and Design, an Outstanding Teaching Award from Louisiana State University by the Tiger Foundation, and multiple awards granted to her students. She is extensively published and has lectured at numerous national conference venues as well as at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, The University of Texas at Austin, Auburn University, the University of Illinois, Champagne, and The Ohio State University. Her focus, on visual communication and representation of cultural landscapes, complements the strengths of the current faculty and promises to further the focus and mission of the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
Welcome Professor Marshall.
