Quilian Riano Named Associate Director of the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative
Quilian Riano will be joining Kent State’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design as Associate Director of the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC) beginning August 15.
Mr. Riano holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design where his project was nominated for the Thesis Prize, and a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida. He comes to us from New York City where he is a Senior Strategic Design Initiatives Specialist for New York City’s Department of Design and Construction, Office of the Chief Architect. He is also founder and lead designer of DSGN AGNC, a studio that works on architectural, urban and strategic design. There he has managed teams of design professionals, managed budgets and schedules for large construction and research projects worth millions of dollars and has extensive experience with grant-writing and fund-raising.
He also comes with extensive teaching experience including over 25 undergraduate and graduate studios and workshops at Pratt Institute, City College, Columbia University and Parsons New School of Design where he has done most of his teaching.
While his primary role will be as Associate Director of the CUDC, his extensive teaching experience will also be put to use. We look forward to all that he brings to us and are very pleased to have Quilian Riano on the CUDC team.
