Jody also serves as the Student Accessibility Services liaison and works closely with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities counselors to assist students with searching for and finding employment opportunities. Additionally Jody coordinates the College Suit Up Event in partnership with JcPenney every spring – this event provides students with access to purchase professional attire at a deeply discounted price.
For the last 8 years, Jody has assisted with the process of expanding career education/advising across campus – bringing services and resources to students within the areas that they were already occupying. Initially, Jody advocated for and created a new career peer program in Spring 2014, allowing for peer to peer mentorship opportunities to evolve while providing a team of student paraprofessionals career services experience. In Fall 2016, under her leadership, career advisors began to branch out with new offerings such as satellite drop-ins, which then led to increased partnerships and newly created relationships that provided the opportunity for career advisors to begin residing within collegiate areas (outside of the central career services office).
