Professor Larson’s Understanding Greek Religion: A Cognitive Approach (Routledge 2016) is one of the first attempts to fully examine a world religion from a cognitive perspective. Since 2016 she has used cognitive theory to investigate such topics as ancient Greek sacrifice, mystery cults, moral supervision by gods, and most recently, Greco-Roman magic. Copies of her books will be on sale at the reception following the lecture.
