Chemistry Major Selected to Attend ACS Leadership Institute

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry would like to congratulate undergraduate student Mary Waddington, who has been chosen by the American Chemical Society to participate in the 2014 ACS Leadership Institute.  Mary, a second-year chemistry major, was one of fifteen students nationwide selected to attend the program, which runs from January 24-26 in Dallas, Texas.

The ACS states that the program is intended to help participants understand "the essential elements of effective leadership," and offers "an opportunity to interact with other local section and technical division officers and ACS governance."

The selective program requires each participant to be a member of the American Chemical Society.  Mary currently serves as the Vice President of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) here at Kent State.
