NEW The Laramie Project

Thursday, April 13th and Friday, April 14th

Oscar Ritchie Theater | 7PM


“The Laramie Project” is a play about the reaction to the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming gay student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The murder was denounced as a hate crime and brought attention to the lack of hate crime laws in various states. This event is free, but donations will be accepted.

Join the Women's Center, SRVSS Office, and LGBTQ Student Center as we discuss issues of Sexual Assault in the LGBTQ+ Community. The goal is not to only create meaningful dialogue, but to create a space to develop and execute a call to action.


NEW Fusion Magazine Movie Night: Moonlight

Fusion Magazine will be showing Moonlight - the 2017 academy award winning film for Best Picture. Admission is free, and there will also be free popcorn, merchandise and premier copies of the Fusion 2017 print magazine.


NEW Become a Global Ambassador


The Global Ambassador Program was created to provide assistance to international students as they adjust to life away from home at Kent State University. The primary function of a Global Ambassador is to be a support system to international students during their first semester. Their responsibilities will begin in the end of the spring semester and conclude at the end of the fall semester. Upon successful completion of the program, each Global Ambassador will receive the Global Program Participation Certificate. NEW Walk a Mile in Their Shoes

“Walk A Mile In Their Shoes” is an inspiring united gender movement where everyone will be a part of the solution to ending sexualized violence by marching a mile in another’s shoes. Men participating are asked to wear women’s heels. Women participating are asked to wear men’s shoes. Registration begins at 4:30PM and the event starts at 5PM.


Safe Space Training

If you were unable to attend the CCI Safe Space Ally Training this semester, please consider attending this one in April. This training aims to equip students, faculty, and staff with the tools for creating welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ students on campus. You have the opportunity to sign an Ally Pledge at the end of the training and receive a rainbow placard for your office. For more information about the training, please visit the website.
