NEW Women in Islam

Join the Kent State Muslim Students’ Association, as they present a discussion on women in Islam. The discussion will include the role of women in Islam, what it's like to be a Muslim Woman in the current climate, and misconceptions about Muslim women.
NEW Public Health Diversity Symposium

The symposium will feature Public Health guest speakers and roundtable discussions led by current URM public health graduate students. A buffet luncheon will be served. This event is free and open to the public. Confirm your reservation by email to Karen Baker email@example.com.

There will be some great events taking place all week long, including an interactive display in the Kent Student Center and Library, a social media campaign, and a social mixer. Please join us!
Here are some ways that you can get involved:
- Share the attached flyer with your students and colleagues
- Share and retweet our #CCIDiversity posts and post your own all week long
- Come visit the “Wall of Oppression” in the Kent Student Center Monday (4/24) – Thursday (4/27)
- Join us on Thursday (4/27) for our social mixer, Diversi-Palooza, on the first floor of the Library
- Join us on Friday (4/28) on the third floor of the Library as we talk about overcoming oppression in our society and physically smash down the Wall of Oppression

Safe Space Training

If you were unable to attend the CCI Safe Space Ally Training this semester, please consider attending this one in April. This training aims to equip students, faculty, and staff with the tools for creating welcoming environments for LGBTQ+ students on campus. You have the opportunity to sign an Ally Pledge at the end of the training and receive a rainbow placard for your office. For more information about the training, please visit the website.
