CCI Diversity Strategic Vision

STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

PRIORITY 1: EMBRACE

Foster a sense of belonging for all students, faculty, and staff in the College of Communication and Information

Strategy 1.1: Utilize best practices that provide equal access to opportunities for all students, faculty, and staff

Strategy 1.2: Facilitate and invest in diversity initiatives, programming, and events that cultivate an inclusive community

Strategy 1.3: Create and support collaborative teams dedicated to diversity and inclusion

 

PRIORITY 2: EDUCATE

Provide and promote educational opportunities for students, faculty, and staff in the College of Communication and Information that will help develop a deeper understanding of diversity and inclusion, encourage positive interpersonal interactions, and create a learning environment where all perspectives are voiced and valued

Strategy 2.1: Encourage and facilitate the inclusion of diversity topics in curriculum

Strategy 2.2: Promote and invest in high-impact diversity and inclusion experiences inside and outside the classroom

Strategy 2.3: Develop and promote diversity and inclusion professional development opportunities for students, faculty, and staff

 

PRIORITY 3: EMPOWER

Connect students, faculty, and staff in the College of Communication and Information to resources and support that will improve diversity recruitment, retention, and graduation rates

Strategy 3.1: Recruit a diverse student body by utilizing a combination of best practices and nontraditional pathways

Strategy 3.2: Provide support and connections to university and community resources that will improve retention and graduation rates of diverse students

Strategy 3.3: Implement practices and support services proven effective for recruiting, hiring, and retaining diverse faculty and staff
