Visual Communication Design Students Take Top Honors at International Design Research Competition

Two teams from Kent State qualify as finalists

As part of a special topics interaction design class called Dynamic Interplay, School of Visual Communication Design (VCD) students from the College of Communication and Information took part in the International Conference for Interaction Design and Children (IDC) 2018, participating in the Research & Design competition.

Children from all over the world were invited to submit their ideas for future technologies that would celebrate diversity and foster social inclusion. Student teams then selected a prompt to respond to and worked to prepare and present their interactive ideas.  Teams were mentored by VCD Professor Gretchen Rinnert

Two teams from Kent State were selected as finalists. Earning second place was the student group behind Create, Nick Labatte, Imana Onipe, Brian Tran and Betsy Garwood. You can see their project preview video below or at https://vimeo.com/272027292 .
