Karamu Ya Wahitimu / Celebracion De Los Graduados (Swahili and Spanish for Celebration of the Graduates) is a pre-commencement celebration and final Rites of Passage graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of all graduating African, African American, Native American, and Hispanic/Latino(a) undergraduate and graduate students.


This is an open event, and we encourage all faculty and staff in CCI to attend the ceremony to watch our awesome graduates celebrate their accomplishments.

The Kent State Women’s Center is hosting a diaper drive from November 7th- December 9th. Drop off locations are: Center for Undergraduate Excellence, Child Development Center, and the Women’s Center of the Williamson House.

The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Diversity Trailblazer Award and the 2017 Unity Award for Diversity!


The Diversity Trailblazer Award is awarded to an individual who has displayed exemplary contributions in the area of diversity to the university community.


This Unity Award for Diversity recognizes the contributions of any Kent State University unit that demonstrates the most significant contributions in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Hosted by the Kent State University Women’s Center


Mothers, Mentors and Muses is the Women’s Center's signature event that recognizes Kent State University female-identifying faculty or staff who have made a significant difference in the life of a student or colleague. More than 350 women across the university have received this honor.


This award is intended to honor female-identifying faculty or staff of Kent State (with five or more years of service) who have served in any of three roles:

Mother – one who has helped “birth” ideas, thoughts and academic endeavors in others, or who serves as a nurturing individual to others.

Mentor – one who serves as a trusted counselor, colleague and/or role model.

Muse – one who inspires creativity and artistic/academic passion in others.

Every Wednesday and Thursday | 10am-4pm

Fresh fruits and vegetables are even available on Thursdays from 1:30-4:00pm!



Students must bring their Kent State ID cards with them!


Any student at Kent State University is eligible to utilize the food pantry. We never want any of our students to go hungry, and many of them do not know that there is a food pantry available to them.Spread the word!
