VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AERONAUTICS FAIR

Volunteers needed for the Aeronautics fair pancake breakfast Saturday, September 9th. Proceeds will go to the emergency funds of the LGBTQ Student Center, Student Multicultural Center, SRVSS Office, and Women’s Center. Contact Ashley Williams atawilli43@kent.edu or stop by the SMC if interested!

GET READY TO TALK TABOO: STEREOTYPED 101™ EVENT

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA Kent) is partnering with the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), the School of Journalism and Mass Communication(JMC) and Kent State Student Media to bring speaker, humorist, author and diversity engagement specialist Karith Foster to campus on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. Karith will discuss her program, Stereotyped 101™ "An Exploration in Unconscious Bias," to Kent State at a time in our country where humor, understanding, acceptance and respect are so desperately needed. Her motto is: "If you can laugh at it, you can get through it." Come listen to Karith as she shares her stories and creates a space for dialogue about modern day diversity and how we can practice compassion to inspire change. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff. Join us Wednesday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Franklin Hall room 340.

LGBTQ STUDENT CENTER CONDUCTING A STUDY

 

The LGBTQ Student Center is conducting a study to learn about experiences and micro aggressions in undergraduate classrooms. People at least 18 or older who have been enrolled in an undergraduate program in the past year and identify as a sexual orientation minority (lesbian, pansexual, gay, etc.) can participate in this anonymous study with an opportunity to receive a $10 Amazon gift card.
