Camp Read-A-Lot (Teachers) 

The Kent State University (KSU) Summer Clinical Practicum in Corrective Reading intervention program, aka Camp Read-A-Lot, has a strong record of improving student achievement in literacy while also assisting teachers in strengthening and refining their instructional practices in the language arts.

Summer 2018 Youth Writing Camp (Grades 4-9) 

Let your voice be heard at the National Writing Project Youth Writing Camp at Kent State University this summer! The camp is directed by certified National Writing Project consultants Aleesha Bradick and Angie Briggs.

Wick Juniors Summer Camp (Grades 3-12) 

In partnership with the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center, students entering grades 3 through 12 will experience one day with the Wick Poetry Center teachers at Kent State University. Additionally, students will continue their experience with Wick teachers during a three-night, four-day stay at the Environmental Education Center (EEC) in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  Through guided hikes, pond dips, and more, the young writers will explore how the natural world influences our writing. A culminating reading will follow at the Wick Poetry Center’s Poetry Park. The registration fee covers all expenses, including meals and lodging at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Additionally, the young writers will receive a bag, notebook, and pencils.
