FLASHanthropy & STEAM: Hands of Gratitude Maker Camp (Grades 5+)

Hands of Gratitude is a nonprofit that provides 3D printed prosthetic hands to those in need. Campers will have the opportunity to assemble a 3D prosthetic hand to be donated while also engaging in team-building activities focused on leadership and empathy. Registration fee reflects 3D kit materials. 

Date: Wednesday, June 6, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. - Noon (1 session)
Registration Fee: $75 if registering by May 20; $100 after May 20

Golden Flashes Jr STEAM Team (Grades 1-3)

Young campers will have fun engaging with digital tools for robotics, coding, and design while building important skills for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & mathematics). 

Date: Monday thru Thursday, June 11-14, 2018
Time: 12:30 - 3 p.m. 
Registration Fee: $100 if registering by May 20; $125 after May 20

LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 - Level 1 (Grades 2+)

Campers will build & program robotics models using the LEGO WeDo 2.0 system.  Families may opt to include with registration the purchase of a LEGO WeDo 2.0 kit for their child to use at camp and to take home after completing the camp.

The aMAZEing Adventures of Edison! (Grades 3-5)

Campers will meet Edison the robot and together unleash imagination and creativity. After learning how to program Edison, campers will put their ingenuity to the test as they help Edison navigate through a maze and solve some problems along the way.

Tynkering with LEGO WeDo Robotics and Drones (Grades 3+)

Campers who have completed a previous LEGO WeDo camp will learn to use Tynker to program new LEGO WeDo models and Parrot Drones. Registration includes a Parrot Drone for the camper to use at home and keep. Families may also opt to include with registration the purchase of a LEGO WeDo 2.0 kit for their child to use at camp and to keep.

Immersive Design: Exploring Tools for 3D, Augmented & Virtual Reality (Grades 5+)

Campers will design and program with tools for 3D modeling and creating augmented/virtual reality media.

Girls 4STEAM: Chic to be Geek! (Grades 5+)

Did you know the very first computer programmer was a woman? Or that a famous movie actress holds a patent that led to Bluetooth Technology? Girls will learn about these and other role models while they design and program a robot to solve a real world challenge. Discover that it is Chic to be Geek!

Time: 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Physical Computing with the Raspberry Pi (Grades 3+)

Campers will learn physical computing with the Raspberry Pi by programming the Raspberry Pi to connect it to the physical world. Registration includes the campers own Raspberry Pi and materials to use during the camp and to keep.

Coding with Smart Toy Robots (Grades 3+)

Campers will design and code with a variety of programmable toy robots including Edisons, Ozobot Bits, and Sphero SPRK+.

Game Design & Programming (Grades 6+)

Campers will use Sploder and RPG Maker to design and program digital games.
